Music

Music Program students are introduced to a wide variety of musical experiences.

Grades 1-4 are involved in a musical class twice a week and learn music concepts and skills through Orff, Kodaly, movement, singing, playing pitched/unpitched instruments, and the study of multicultural music.

Grades 5-6 participate in music four times a week,  learning and developing skills in playing a wind instrument, reading musical notation, performing, and practicing.

Grades 7-10 participate in choir, band, and/or hand chimes. They develop their skills through study, written and playing/singing assessments, and performing various musical genres.  They also perform at constituent churches during the school year.

All students at Lake City Academy engage annually in a Christmas and Spring Concert to showcase what they have learned throughout the school year.
